Here is a step by step showing the making of my rail track system. You will notice the slots on the one side and the tab on the other this enables the track pieces to connect in one continuous line without moving about on the table. The end piece that the track ends with does not have the tab so it ends flush to table end.

The following is my river system based on the same modular system as my roads just a bit larger.
Numerous straight sections from large, medium and small. Numerous turn sections from sharp 45 degree to gentle 45 degree, sharp 90 degree to gentle 90 degree and going both left and right. There are two crossing sections one for a bridge, not shown, and the other a ford.
